Will Arighi completed his Ph.D. in June, 2015. His dissertation, entitled “‘This Humble Work’: Puerto Rican and Philippine Literature between Spanish and United States Empires,” examines the role of empire in the production of modern concepts of literary value in the field of world literature. While at the University of Washington, Dr. Arighi taught courses in composition, Southeast Asian literature, postcolonial historical fiction, and Tagalog language. He is currently an Assistant Professor of World Literature at Springfield College. He has two dogs.
