I'm a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature at the UW, and I'm currently working on a dissertation that explores literary forms of catastrophe in Romantic literature and their relationship to a discourse of the in-human, that which is at once opposing and within what is human. I'm interested in the paradoxical temporality invoked by catastrophe, a coexistence of termination and (re)generation. The project seeks to examine literature's intervention in the history of catastrophic thinking. It includes chapters on Mary Shelley, William Wordsworth, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and Heinrich von Kleist.
Apart from these, I'm also enthusiastic about films, yoga, coffee and hiking : )
