Screen’s Editors recently announced the results of the Annette Kuhn Debut Essay Prize, for articles published during 2018-19.  The joint winners for the award are our very own Mal Ahern (@malahern, U of Washington) for ‘Cinema’s automatisms and industrial automation’ (Diacritics, 46/4) and Rachel Fabian (Purchase College) for ‘Reconsidering the work of Claire Johnson’ (Feminist Media Histories, 4/3).  The Annette Kuhn Debut Essay Award recognises emerging scholars in the field publishing in any journal.
