My background is in English literature, but my interest in intersections and interdisciplinary work brought me to the comparative side of literature. Poetry is my main interest, especially the performances of poetry in indigenous and minority populations as a part of reconstructing a waning identity. My work follows the intersections among minority literature, cultural studies, folkloristics, nation formation, performance theory, postcolonial studies, Anthropology, orality studies and political theory in order to investigate the role of poetry in providing modes of resistance and community.
I believe in the intellectual power of walking.
