Minghui Zhu

Zhu's research focuses on the art fashion of 20th-21st century China.  It aims to the difference and interpenetration in the theory and practice of fashion and other art media, like advertisements and posters, newspapers, comics, movies and so on.  Then analyzes the cultural characteristics of the times and nation behind it, like the cultural memory and urban imagination.  Her past research is about the retro fashion of 21st century China.  Recently, Zhu is interested in art fashion criticism of early 20th century China (1900-1949), and want to figure out the Fashion-ology and the modernity of fashion.
