Jude Velez is a doctoral student in Cinema & Media Studies, whose research interests include queer studies, new media, psychoanalysis and women, gender & sexuality.
They are currently researching community formations via TikTok, specifically transgender communities and the conservative right, and how we can understand the creation, proliferation, and instigation of these fixed transphobic ideologies through the agency of a digital platform.
