Biography
Delphine Gras specializes in twentieth-century literature of the Americas and the African Diaspora. An assistant professor at Florida Gulf Coast University, Gras is completing her book project, New World Griots: Music, Literature, and the Development of the Black Public Sphere, an early version of which was a finalist for the 2011 Vanderbilt ICI book competition on the African Diaspora. Her most recent publications include work on Black music, Paul Gilroy, Shay Youngblood, and Nicolás Guillén.
