David De La Rocha is currently finishing a thesis, "Latin American Poetry and Translation." He is interested in translation theory, network theory, gender theory, film theory, and continental philosophy. His research interest has focused on Latin America and examines (un)transalatability. He is interested in the relationship between literature and (politics) the digital-world(ed) age. He is developing projects involving (post-war & contemporary) Italian and French film. David has organized and participated in several international literary conferences and has edited and participated in several journals. He is currently teaching: (Spanish) for The Division of Spanish & Portuguese Studies.

David enjoys making music, cooking, and brewing.
