First year MA student Long Hoàng Trần arrived at the Department of Cinema and Media Studies last fall already as a 2019 Husky 100 award winner, which recognizes 100 UW undergraduates and graduates making the most of their time at UW.  Not one to rest on his accolades, Long continues to excel as an MA student.  In addition to his courses and duties as a Teaching Assistant, he’s keeping himself busy both academically (attending multiple conferences this spring) and non-academically (through his participation in the Vietnamese Student Association at UW Seattle campus.)  He’s recently been awarded several travel grants and scholarships including the Thomas and Mary Gething Travel Grant and the R-Squared Media/LGCY Scholarship.  He is also a recipient of the Summer Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship which he will use to study Vietnamese this summer.  Congratulations Long!
