Ben Burr-Kirven, a Cinema Studies major in his senior year, was recently named Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.  Burr-Kirven is a linebacker for the Washington Huskies football team.  His 155 total tackles for the current season was the most by any Husky over an entire season since 2011.  Every Pac-12 institution may nominate one individual per sport for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each of the Pac-12's sponsored sports.  Besides the academic requirements for eligibility, the athletics accomplishments are a consideration in voting for the selection committee.  Read more about his selection in the Pac-12 announcement as well as the write up in The Seattle Times.

Congratulations to Ben on his accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom!
