The Department of Comparative Literature, Cinema and Media is one of the co-sponors for the upcoming film screening and discussion of 500 Years - Life in Resistance on Thursday, October 4th at 4:30pm in Thomson Hall Room 101. 500 Years is a documentary film about the genocide trial of former dictator General Rios Montt and tells the story of the indigenous Mayan population, and the uprising that followed the trial.
Co-directors Paco de Onís & Pamela Yates and Dr. Irma Alicia Velásquez, Mayan scholar and activist will be on campus for the event.
