Congratulations to doctoral student Paul Morton, who was awarded the Graduate School Presidential Dissertation Fellowship for 2017-2018! This competitive award is intended to assist PhD candidates in the final stages of writing and completing their dissertations, and will provide one quarter of full fellowship funding with tuition and benefits. Paul’s dissertation “Embracing Imperfection: The Zagreb School of Animation and the Yugoslav Ideal” explores the Zagreb School of Animation, one of the most important animation movements of the twentieth century. It examines the School in the context of the former Yugoslavia's Third Way socialist experiment.
