Mary Childs (Ph.D. 2012) is one of the co-founders of the digital humanities project, Newbooks, and their website, the Georgian Digital Text Collective. Newbook Digital Texts in the Humanities was founded in 2012, by Dr. Walter Andrews, at the University of Washington. The group of scholars envision easy, open access to less well known literary and historical texts, and like works in the humanities and social sciences that might not otherwise be published by conventional academic presses.  The Georgian Digital Text Collective which began in 2007, is a website devoted to the literature and culture of the Republic of Georgia, to provide resources in Georgian and English for students, scholars and researchers of Georgian history and culture.

Mary is currently a Lecturer in Comparative History of Ideas at the University of Washington.
