The Media Lab is a space where Cinema and Media Studies students can use high-quality monitors and computers to work on video editing and group projects. These can be projects for class, or, if you are a CMS major, creative projects independent of coursework.
Located in Padelford B531, the space holds six design-quality 32” monitors that can be docked to laptops. The lab also has a Mac Studio and two Mac minis loaded with Adobe Creative Cloud, Da Vinci Pro, Audacity, and other software. Microphones for recording audio tracks are also available.
Leah Gunter manages the Media Lab and is available as a technical consultant to answer any questions regarding software or media equipment. Her office hours are 10AM–3PM, Monday–Thursdays and she is available via email at leahkg@uw.edu.
When using the Media Lab it is expected that you will follow the posted ground rules, sign-in, and most importantly, learn something new! ★
