Explore the world of the Hindu Goddess (VLPA, DIV, optional W)

Some of the questions we will explore:

What are the many manifestations of the Goddess?

What are her major festivals and how is she celebrated and worshiped?

How does she function as a role model for Hindu women?

How does she pervade high-brow literary as well as popular culture?

and much more...

 

Keep a Goddess Journal, co-lead one class discussion,

and work on a final presentation to be written up as a paper (W) or short essay.

 

Involves a class visit to a special exhibit in the Seattle Asian Art Museum

and the chance for the best short essay to be featured on their website.
